picture polish - aquatic

Last month I picked up a few of the new picture polish shades and my nails finally grew long enough to be able to swatch them.

By now I am sure everyone's seen all the professional, beautifully lit swatches but here are my own pictures as well as my own thoughts about this shade.

It is a deep teal jelly with picture polish's signature scattered holographic flakes.
Regarding the size of the flakes, I noticed that around 5 years ago, the size of these holo particles have changed to a smaller, looking almost like as if they were microglitter, but they are not.
In my opinion, the amount of these holo particles could be a liiitle bit bigger, but that's just the holosexual in me talking.

The shade is what really surprised me. In the bottle, it looked almost navy blue, I even wondered why I needed a shade that looked almost identical to riviera in the bottle.
However, during application, the lacquer turned out to be almost green, which I am happy for since I don't own Escapades anymore (yeah, I got rid of it in my "I hate all green lacquers" state, which I deeply regret since so many great green pp shades are now missing from my collection)

I used 3 thin coats to give depth to the shade and it is beautiful. Application was flawless and easy, the lacquer did not turn gooey and the coats did not drag each other. I used a shiny top coat which shrank all the coats on my nails so it looks like tip wear on the photos.

I was unable to take photos in daylight, but I used three different color temperature lights.
